Arizona State University selected state Sen. Richard Miranda as the 2006 Distinguished Achievement Award recipient.  The Distinguished Achievement Award is presented by the ASU Mary Lou Fulton College of Education annually to a person who has made extraordinary contributions to a program at ASU.

As a leader of the Alpha Partnership Program, Miranda connected ASU with elementary and high schools districts within his community to create mutually supportive programs.

“Education is one of the most concerning issues facing Arizona,” says Sen. Miranda. “I will continue to serve as an advocate for education and look forward to seeing its advancement spearheaded by all of those who fight daily for its progress.”
