Latin art gallery opens
Another bridge to art in the Americas will open to fans this month in Scottsdale.
The Latin American Art Gallery, 7610 E. McDonald Drive, Ste. C, opens its doors April 21 in the Stable Galleria.
Owner Sharon Figarelli specializes in contemporary paintings, drawings, sculpture and photography by innovative Latino artists from Cuba, Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Venezuela, Argentina, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
Among artists represented are Kadir Lopez Nieves, Alejandro Lloret, Francisco Ochoa, Perez Celis and Cecilia Miguez.
The only other place to see Latin American art on a regular basis is the ASU Art Museum in Tempe. Figarelli’s Latin American Art Gallery marks a new awareness of collectable art whose value increases with time, according to Figarelli.
“We’ll be showing 11 artists,” Figarelli says. “Artists Jose Bechara and Francisco Ochoa are planning on being here.” Music will also be part of the grand opening festivities.
Gallery hours are Tues-Sat 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more info, visit www.thelatinamericanartgallery.com or call (480) 751-8474.
