Mirror, mirror: AZGOP launches Hispanic website

The State’s Republican Party launched a website last month to address “the issues and concerns of one of the state’s most dynamic and diverse communities.” Party Chairman Randy Pullen is optimistic about the effort, “Democrats have consistently taken [Hispanics’] votes for granted, and we share their feeling that our government has gotten seriously off track. Combined with our message of traditional family values, I believe that our principles mirror those of Arizona’s Hispanic population.”

The new site features groups, photos, discussion forums, a blog, and links to YouTube videos including testimonials from members of the Arizona Hispanic Republican Coalition.

For Alice Lara, a founder of the Arizona Latino Republican Association, this initiative “goes to show that the AZGOP is working hard to connect to conservative Hispanics throughout the state of Arizona.”

Ya era hora! Check out the website at http://azhispanics.ning.com, but don’t read too much into the URL address. While azhispanics is self-explanatory, ning is simply a platform that allows users to create social networks online.
